Leading Tipper Drummer 1997

This photo is taken from Regiment Magazine of October 1997. The caption simply says that this side drummer is the leading tipper drummer. He has an ornamental sash over his tunic and belts. There are no rank badges and he is therefore not senior to the other side drummers but presumably they took their cue from him, and he is the one who performed any solo drumming. The back view shows the bugle hanging on a green cord, and an ornamental brass-hilted band sword in his bayonet frog. The other drummers have a bayonet. The pattern of lace on his tunic is also seen in this view, as well as the buttoned flaps.
