Poelcapelle

Poelcapelle, 5 miles northeast of Ypres, was the scene of an advance against formidable German blockhouses on 4 Oct 1917. This contemporary illustration gives an idea of the churned up ground at the front but fails to convey the awful conditions caused by incessant rain.
