Bartholemew Roberts


Bartholemew Roberts was arguably the most successful pirate of all time. In just three years, he had managed to capture as many as 470 vessels. Eventually, he was killed off the coast of Africa in 1722 shot by grapeshot fired from a Royal Navy ship.
