Major-General Walker at Seria

Major-General Walter Walker was to be in charge of the British forces for most of the Indonesian Confrontation as the British Commander of Borneo Operations. This photograph shows him at Seria shortly after the Brunei Revolt discussing issues with Lt Col Charlie McHardy of the 1st Queen's Own Highlanders and Major Ian Cameron. Seria's oil facilities were a key target for the rebels and their defence was paramount.
