Carlisle Bay


In 1694, 1,500 Frenchmen landed at Carlisle Bay in Clarendon. Here they were opposed by two hundred colonists and some slaves. Later on, several hundred colonists arrived on the scene, and after a few days fighting, the French were driven back to their ships.
