The Round Table Talks at Westminster
The issue of India was far more complicated.
- India had no existing parliament
- It was directly ruled
- The Indian National Congress wanted to speak for all Indians
- Many Muslims, Sikhs and Untouchables did not wish to be represented by the Hindu Gandhi or the INC
Ultimately, the talks broke down and Gandhi and the INC went back empty-handed.
