Cook's Search for a Southern Continent


One of the primary aims of Cook's second expedition was to search for a habitable Southern Continent that many were convinced lay to the South. Other than the previously discovered Australia, Cook could confirm that there was no habitable Southern Continent just the ice bound Antarctica.
