HMS Shannon capturing USS Chesapeake

HMS Shannon capturing USS Chesapeake in 1813 represented a new level of competence and expertise for both navies involved. The professionalism of the American Navy had surprised the British and had forced the Royal Navy to raise its own game. The British captain had drilled his crew to a remarkable level of efficiency which helped reduce the Chesapeake in just 15 minutes of brutal action.
