The Welser's Army

The Welser's were a banking family given permission by the Spanish Crown to colonise Venezuela, Brazil and Colombia in an early example of out-sourcing. The Spanish Crown depended on banking families like these to process their funds and make advances. The Welsers were from Augsberg. They invested a great deal of time and effort into locating the mythical city of El Dorado.
