Botswana's National Assembly

This 10 Pula note celebrates Botswana's National Assembly built in Gaberones (later renamed Gaborone) in the mid-1960s as the capital was hastily put together. The optimistic architecture employed was an attempt to chart a new direction for the fledgling country and to mark a break from its colonial past. Image courtesy of Banknote World.
