Henry VIII

Henry VIII has a powerful reputation. He is particularly famous for having had six wives. However, he is more important to English history as being an authoritative and decisive king. He started turning England from a small insignificant island kingdom into a major force in European politics. He invested a great deal into the defences of the island, particularly the Navy. Perhaps most importantly, it was Henry VIII who started the break from Rome.
