Officer's pillbox cap, c1895

The 11th had a very ornate pattern braided on the top of the cap. The gold lace round the headband is a special 11th pattern, echoing the pouchbelt lace. There is no gold braid around the top edge as is the case with other regiments. By this stage the cap is stiff and formalised, whereas the early versions were softer. It was worn with stable dress (see Officer in stable dress c1895) patrol jacket and frockcoat.
