Sergeant-Major, Service Dress 1902


This glass negative photo shows the segeant-major in khaki service dress with the closed fall collar, brass buttons and brown leather Sam Browne belt. He has the full dress blue breeches with yellow stripe and black boots. The khaki peaked cap was new to the British Army at the time. The 4th DG were in India up to 1903 after which the spent four years in South Africa.
