Mounted Trooper, c1897


This group of Canadian soldiers shows the blue uniform with white collar and breeches stripes worn by the Governor General's Body Guard. The helmet is silver metal with brass fittings and white falling plume. The soldiers standing in front of him are, from the left, a Bombadier of 3rd Field Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery; a private of the 10th Grenadiers, and a gunner of the RCA in winter kit.
