Review Order


The senior Gurkha officer in the middle is a veteran of many years service as he wears an Indian Mutiny medal from 1857. His other medals are the Indian General Service medal 1854-95 with two clasps, the Afghanistan War Medal 1878-80 with four clasps, which would include Peiwar Kotal and Charasiah, the Kabul to Kandahar Star 1880 and round his neck, the Order of British India. The Havildars are armed with the Martini-Henry rifle and the one on the left shows the position of the kukri knife on the waistbelt.
