Officers 1880

The mounted officer of the 5th Cavalry is in a dark green uniform with 6 plaited gold cords across his chest. The elaborate sleeve decoration indicates that he is a field officer. The dark green breeches have a double gold stripe and the boots have a gold edge to the top and a gold boss. The horse has a black leather bridle with a scarlet horsehair throat plume. The saddle is covered with a black sheepskin with a red cloth scalloped edge.

The standing officer is in dark green patrol jacket with black cords across the chest. His red pillbox cap has gold lace around it and gold braid figuring on the top.
