Risaldar-Major c1905

This fine model highlights some of the aspects of the uniform that photos do not show. There are subtle changes to the uniform worn pre-1903 when the 5th Punjab Cavalry became the 25th. The shoulder chains were adopted in place of gold-edged scarlet cloth shoulder straps. The sabretache is no longer worn, although this was officially abolished for the 5th in 1898. White gauntlets have been taken into wear but these cover up the ornate gold braided cuffs. The turban and cummerbund are correctly coloured with gold and black stripes.
