Officer, Full Dress 1897

This lithograph signed J.C is from a sketch made at Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The officer who modelled for it was Rissaldar-Major Myrab Ali Khan. He wears a green kurta that has a low collar covered in gold lace. The gauntlets cover his cuffs, so any decoration that there might be is hidden. On his chest is a line of gold lace that is in the shape of a tall U with three gilt buttons down the middle.

The silver chains on his shoulder have dark green backing cloth. The pouchbelt and waistbelt are of white leather with gold lace laid on and a white silk stripe down the middle. The waistbelt was worn over the red embroidered kummerbund and supported a sword in a black leather scabbard with brass fittings. His turban is blue with blue, white and gold stripes. The kullah is red and gold. The medals include the red and green striped India Medal ribbon.
