Officer's Sabretache 1830-37

William IV acceded to the throne on 26 June 1830. Very soon after this the 14th became the King's Light Dragoons, and the Prussian Eagle was replaced by the Royal Crest. The honour PENINSULA was restored to the design and given more decoration around the scroll. The regiment became gold laced in 1830 as well as changing from blue to red uniforms. On this example the gold thread on the reverse WR cypher has worn off in places revealing the pale cord beneath.
