5th Dragoon Guards

Officer's Shoulder Scale c1827

Officers in undress wore this gilt shoulder scale on each shoulder. They were worn on the blue frock coat and on the stable jacket. A print by W Heath of this period shows officers in both orders of dress. The cypher PCW and laurel wreath are in silver on a gilt base. The small regimental button indicates the style of button worn on the dress uniform.
