The North transept of St Patrick's Cathedral has a China War memorial to the 18th Royal Irish Regiment, nearest the'camera, depicting in relief men of the regiment mourning the dead Commanding Officer 38 year-old Lieutenant-Colonel Nicholas Tomlinson following the action at Chapoo in 1841. The tattered Colours hang overhead.'
