Delhi Durbar 1911

This still is from a lost colour film made in 1911 at the Delhi Durbar of that year. The Durbar was attended by King George V. The film was shot in Kinemacolour, the first colour film system shown in cinemas. The film first showed in London but was soon lost. It was rediscovered in Russian Archives in 2000 and was used in the TV series The British Empire in Colour. A clip can be seen on Youtube. The gunners of the Royal Horse Artillery put on an impressive show, wearing dress uniform and white tropical Wolseley helmets.
