Other Ranks’ Waistbelt Clasp 1855-81


The brass waistbelt clasp worn by other ranks was adopted c1855 when bayonets were moved from shoulder belts to waist belts. The lettering is the title of the regiment up until 1881: 1ST YORK NORTH RIDING REGIMENT.
