The upper badge was the central part of the universal brass star badge worn on the infantry helmet from 1878. The title YORKSHIRE suggests that it is post-1881 but the county name was also in the pre-1881 title. Alexandra’s cypher, Danish cross and coronet form the centre of the badge and also the collar badges below. |
