Other Ranks’ Badges c1881


The upper badge was the central part of the universal brass star badge worn on the infantry helmet from 1878. The title YORKSHIRE suggests that it is post-1881 but the county name was also in the pre-1881 title. Alexandra’s cypher, Danish cross and coronet form the centre of the badge and also the collar badges below.
