This picture is entitled 'A Bird's Eye View of the Approaches to India' and shows how vulnerable the British felt about their possessions in India and about the rising anxiety about Russia. Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan would all find themselves on the battleground of the Great Game as the two powers vied for influence and power in the region.
