Arthur Wauchope


In 1931, he was assigned as the High Commissioner of Palestine and TransJordan. In this post, he was seen as a very keen proponent of public works and civil engineeering schemes but was criticised severly for not being strict enough on the Arabs in the early stages of their rebellion. He was releived of his post in 1938 by Sir Harold MacMichael<.
