After the Battle

Lord Hardinge and his staff survey the battlefield after the battle of Ferozeshah. Hardinge, who lost his left hand at Ligny, is wearing the same coat as in the portrait, also by Sir Francis Grant. Behind him is a figure wearing a sun hat similar to the one that Sir Hugh Gough is holding in his hand in his portrait. The figure on the small bay horse is Prince Waldemar of Prussia.
