Light Company Officer 1801

This illustration is after a sketch made by William Loftie from life. The unusual headdress appears to be a shako with a white plume curled over the top and a green upright plume at the side. His jacket is buttoned to the waist but the lapels are folded back at the top to show buff facings. He has flank company shoulder wings laced and fringed in silver. The white leather sword belt has no belt plate and is kept in place with a crimson silk waist-sash tied on the right side. His breeches are buff, also the turn-backs of his jacket which at this stage can still be seen at the front.
