11th Hussars

Officer’s Stirrup Slide

There were regimental badges worn on most parts of the officers’ chargers’ tack. As well as the breastplate and bit bosses there were ear bosses, similar to the bit boss but without the crown, and slides worn on the stirrup leathers. This was brass with silver Albert crest and motto. The peacock feathers are splayed out in this version of the crest. The motto TREU UND FEST means Faithful and strong.
