| The later Victorian sabretache was the best designed of them all. The uniforms changed in 1840 from scarlet to blue and a new design of sabretache was introduced with a VR cypher that was not reversed like that of the previous three monarchs. This was the last pattern of sabretache for the 14th Light Dragoons as it was put aside in 1855 when the change of uniform took place. In 1861 the regiment converted to hussars and a new design with a red face was introduced. |
