Pouch-Belts c1960

These belts photographed at the regimental museum in Eastbourne were worn by officers and warrant officers of the 8th Hussars and The Queen's Royal Irish Hussars in the 1950s and '60s. For a brief period the pouchbelt was worn on the right shoulder instead of the left. The reasoning behind this break with tradition was that the pouch-belt obscured the medals when worn on the left shoulder. The white belt was worn with no.1 dress, along with the silver faced pouch. Which has the harp badge of the 8th. Chains and pickers have been added. The black leather belt was worn in khaki service dress, and the pouch has the badge of the amalgamated regiment.
