Queen's Royal Hussars

Guidon

The guidon of the Queen's Royal Hussars has 44 battle honours, which is by no means the full list. The most recent on this side of the guidon is GULF 1991. The four corners are taken up with two Hanoverian white horses and the titles of the constituent regiments. In garter blue at top right is the QOH which was formed from the 3rd and 7th Hussars, and in the bottom left is the QIRH formed from the 4th and 8th Hussars. The centre is the garter encircling the harp of the 8th and the white horse of the 3rd, all surrounded by a Union wreath. The QO badge of the 7th superimposed with a harp is at the base of the guidon and the motto, taken from the 4th Hussars MENTE ET MANU is on a scroll below the wreath.
