| Joseph Alexander Lambert was born on 7 April 1855, the son of Alexander Clendining Lambert and Emma Maria Prendergast. He was educated at Harrow. On 10 Feb 1887 he married Grace Susan Fane daughter of William Dashwood Fane. They had 7 children. He was CO of the 2nd Dragoon Guards when they sailed from India to Egypt in 1895 but he retired in that year. He served as JP and Deputy Lieutenant of County Mayo in 1905 and was High Sheriff in 1906. He lived at Brookhill, Mayo. He died on 25 Sep 1907 in Eltham, Kent and was buried at Cheriton. |
