Wellington's Funeral 1852

This is part of a very long schematic picture of the cortege that paraded through London at the state funeral of the Duke of Wellington. The Drum-Major at the front has his gold-laced coat draped with black crepe. Also his bearskin and mace are adorned with black. The trumpeters and drummers have black cloth covering their fringed collars and the drums are muffled with black cloth.
