Natal 1890



Men of the 1st Battalion Royal Scots resting during a march in Natal. They have white helmets with a badge on the front. Officers have a gilt spike on the top. The uniform makes little concession to the climate, consisting of a red frock and tartan trews. The horses belong to officers.
