Private 1742


This uniform was worn at the battles of Dettingen, Fontenoy, Falkirk, Culloden, Roucoux and Laffeld. The print is one of a series from the Clothing Book of 1742 and depicts a private of a battalion compan. The Regiment was titled King’s from 1716 and changed the facings from dark yellow to blue in that year. The distinctive regimental lace at this stage was white with 2 blue stripes.
