Uniform Scheme 1819

Marcuard’s scheme, published in 1819, showed the pattern of officers' uniforms for each of the regiments. This detail shows the placing of gold loops on the collar and cuffs for the King’s Regiment. There was no lace on the outside of the double-breasted front, only on the blue inside lapels that folded back on dress occasions. The shako was, by this time, wider at the top, and decorated with broad gold lace. The plume was developing in height and increased through the 1820s.
