Active Service1940 - 1943
NotesThis was a long range escort and night fighter. They escorted Blenheims to Cologne in 1941, but were mainly used for sweeps across the Channel. An underpowered engine and a high landing speed meant that the plane was only ever supplied to two squadrons. It was withdrawn in November, 1943. The picture is of a plane from 263 squadron from Filton near Bristol.
