American Anti-Aircraft Gun in Plymouth

When the Americans arrived in Plymouth, they helped with responsibilities regarding the defence and protection of Plymouth. This image shows an American Anti-Aircraft Gun in Plymouth. By the time the Americans were in Plymouth, tip and run raids were more common than mass night time bombings. This meant that fast German fighter-bombers would come in at low level to try and find targets of opportunity in Plymouth Sound and in Plymouth itself.
