Prince of Wales & Col Baker 1871

The Prince of Wales was appointed Colonel of the 10th Hussars on 16 April 1863. He is leading the regiment in this painting of 1871 with Colonel Baker riding behind on his trademark grey Arab charger. They both wear knee boots and breeches which were worn from 1871 to replace the leathered trousers as seen in the photo of Lt-Col Baker 1860.
