| This cartoon is not included on the AMOT Index list but clearly shows officers of the 10th Hussars being evicted to the sound of a fife and drum. The subtitle reads ‘DRUMMING OUT or Cupid giving the word of Command Finale Decimi’ The signpost points in the direction of their exit ‘To the Devil’, and the banner held by the ladies declares ‘NONE BUT THE POLITE DESERVES THE FAIR’ This reproduction is poor but one of the officers appears to be asking “Where is the Colonel?” and another saying, “Oh he is two miles ahead.” The image is courtesy of UK Auctioneers. |
