10th Hussars 1864


The 10th Hussars spent 5 years in Ireland from 1863 to 1868. This photo, taken in Ireland shows the regiment engaged in manoeuvres on the Curragh, a large area of open countryside. The 10th marched from Dublin to the Curragh Camp on 17 June 1864 and were encamped at Donnelly’s Hollow. Colonel Valentine Baker is on the right of the picture with a trumpeter behind him.
