Officer and Trumpeter, 1826

The dragoon guard uniform reached the height of slendour and impracticality in the 1820s. The collar and cuffs are of green velvet and the shabraque is of green cloth. The trumpeter is distinguished by his red bearskin comb. This is an illustration from the notebooks of P W Reynolds based on an excellent water-colour by W Heath.
