Museum Exhibit of Officer's Uniform (front)


The tunic is that of a field officer as shown by the gold cord on the sleeve, but this method of denoting rank was finished around 1902. On the collar can be seen the badge of the regiment which was adopted in April 1899, so the date of the tunic could be narrowed down. However, the regiment served in South Africa from 1900 to 1904 so the full dress uniform was put aside until their return. The embroidered shabraque was discontinued early on in the 1890s.
