7th Hussars

Private with Officer's Charger 1812

This anonymous painting hangs in the Warrant Officers' Mess of the Queen's Royal Hussars and shows the dress of a private of the 7th during the Napoleonic wars. Of special note is the barrel-sash round his waist which is blue and white instead of the usual red and yellow for hussars.
