7th Hussars

Sergeant 1839

Another illustration by Pierre Turner based on sketches made on campaign during the Canadian Rebellion. At home the troops of the 7th were wearing the shako, but in the Canadian winter, they were issued with fur caps, long gloves and thigh boots. They also had their cloaks. This picture shows the carbine attached to the belt as described in 'Private 1825'.
