Tent Hat

This special pattern hat was officially adopted by the 8th Hussars during World War 2 but we have been contacted by Glyn Davies of Northern Ireland who tells us that during recruit training in the Irish Hussars they were taught that the tent hat dates back to the battle of Almenar in 1710 when they were given the hat as a battle honour, along with the right to wear two shoulder-belts.
