26th Regiment of Foot

Other Ranks' Lace 1768

This is a sample of lace from a book in the Royal Library at Windsor, each piece is sewn to some cloth of the facing colour. The lace for the 26th in 1751 was white with two yellow lines. In 1768, when many uniform changes were made, the lace had a central blue line added. This pattern lasted until the end of the Napoleonic Wars.
