Officer 1702

Details of uniforms of the regiment are hard to come by but mention is made in the London Gazette of Lord Lucas's regiment, newly raised in 1702. It simply says that the uniform was red, faced grey. This illustration by Charles Stadden is a suggestion of what the officers looked like. The facings were grey to start with but changed to white soon afterwards. It is not known when the facings changed to light yellow, the colour they retained until 1881 when all English, non-royal regiments had to change to white facings.
