Private 1742

This print is from the Clothing Book published in 1742. Each regiment is depicted, showing their facings colour and lace pattern. Blue facings were adopted in the early Eighteenth Century, perhaps in 1715 when the regiment became the King's Own. The white lace has a blue zig-zag pattern along it's length. This man is in the battalion company, known as a 'hatman', while the grenadiers wore mitre caps.
